Happy Birthday saberspouses.com Published June 5, 2009 By Mara Wight SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- Another Web site to remember? Oh please, stop the insanity! Do I need another password to remember, a common access card or a login? Am I going to get e-junk sent to my account? No, none of the above. I'm talking about the official wing Web site for spouses, www.saberspouses.com, where everyone is welcome to click through the pages, learn what is happening around our community and leave a comment or two if desired. This Web site went active almost a year ago out of a desire to reach as many spouses as possible to give them pertinent information they may have been missing and ensure everyone is one the same page. The 52nd Fighter Wing is such a large and diverse wing that it became obvious that we needed a tool that would allow spouses and others to communicate with each other regardless of geographical location. Most units hold monthly spouses meetings during which important information is shared. In addition, because so much is always happening in our wing, we exchange a great deal of data via e-mail and telephone, as well. However, having a common place where we can "hang" information so everyone can receive it at the same time is fundamental to avoid miscommunication, frustration and time. That's why we have saberspouses.com. As a Web master, I know I have a lot to learn, but the goal of this site is not necessarily to win the prize for best layout, clever "buttonology" or color scheme. What' important is that the information is now available to all spouses willing to let their "fingers do the talking." Spouses, the name is simple: www.saberspouses .com, and the tool is powerful. Surf it up. Get smart on what's going on around your wing, help others, and send me a note if you'd like to contribute information and get involved.
