Upcoming Events

July 10: There will be a post- unit compliance inspection/ celebration 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside Club Eifel. Awards will be given to outstanding performers who were not recognized at the UCI outbrief. Col. Tip Wight, 52nd Fighter Wing commander, will give opening remarks at 11 a.m. Food and beverages will be served 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at no cost. Military members and base employees are invited to attend.

July 10: The Air Force Sergeant's Association semi-annual, four-man scramble golf tournament is scheduled for 8 a.m. July 10 at the Lietzenhof Golf Course. The cost is €35 per person. There will be prizes for first and second place, closest pin, and longest drive, as well as putting and chipping contests. For more information, call Staff Sgt. July 11: A beginners' mat cutting class is scheduled from 9 a.m. - noon July 11 at the Arts and Crafts Center in building 189. The cost is $15 and includes the cost of supplies. July 11: The 52nd Fighter Wing Chapel is hosting a Prayer Walk 8 a.m. July 11 starting at the Spangdahlem Base Chapel parking lot. The focus is to pray for the base, the government and current events while walking around base. Beverages and bagels will be available in the chapel annex after the walk. July 13: Applications are due to either the Bitburg Youth Center in building 58 or the Spangdahlem Youth Center in building 458 July 13 for the U.S. Armed Forces in Europe Teen Adventure Camp open to 13- to 18-year-olds in Garmisch. Selections for the 16 available slots will be made upon receipt of applications. The cost is $30 and is due at the time of selection notifications. Miscellaneous
· Passport and international driver's license pictures taken at the Music Video Xpress are $5 per picture.
· Spangdahlem Veterinary Treatment Facility clinic hours of operation are 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. To schedule an appointment or for information regarding import/export requirements for your pet, call 452-6769.

Safety Message
The Air Force prohibits wearing portable headphones, earphones or other listening devices while operating a motor vehicle, running, jogging, walking, bicycling or skating, to include skateboards, on Air Force installation roadways. The exception is with the use of a hands-free telephone headset or a single-bud earpiece. When jogging or running on roadways at night or in inclement weather, personnel will wear retro-reflective clothing or devices visible from the front and back. All persons who ride a bicycle, including motorized bicycles, on an Air Force installation shall wear a properly fastened and approved bicycle helmet. Central Texas College

University of Maryland University College
UMUC Europe is offering a new Europe $100 book award for spouses and family members of active-duty enlisted servicemembers. The application process for new and current students takes minutes. Servicemembers and their families can access the Department of Defense Morale, Welfare and Recreation Libraries/Lifelong Learning Resource for college level examination program and DANTES subject standardized test preparation, scholastic assessment test subject preparation, general education diploma test preparation, high school success tips, paying for college, school searches, emergency medical technician preparation, resume building, and more. The online resource can be viewed on the Air Force Virtual Education Center on the Air Force Portal under Peterson's Air Force Education Resource Center.
