Staff Sgt. Rebecca Nicole Blalock, 52nd Operations Support Squadron, is the 52nd Fighter Wing's Top Saber Performer for the week of Sept. 11-17.

Name:  Rebecca Nicole Blalock

Unit:  52nd Operations Support Squadron

Duty title:  NCO in charge, supply, aircrew flight equipment

Hometown:  All over ... I'm a military brat

Years in service:  Nine years

Why joined:  My family was stationed at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, when the Gulf War broke out, and I got to see firsthand what the Air Force was all about.  After that, and through watching my father serve proudly as an officer, I knew I wanted the same sense of duty and pride he had but, as I always tell him ... I want to be a Chief!

Family:  My wonderful 6-year-old daughter, Jessica, and our cat, Nemo.

Hobbies:  Cooking -- love it!

Favorite aspect of the job:  The trust and respect you earn from the fighter pilots after working on their life-saving equipment every day, managing the AFE supply section for five separate facilities, and the constant new challenges I face each and every day.

Most memorable Air Force experience:  Being deployed to Iraq and having the pilots wave at you from the cockpit of the F-16 after returning from a mission ... that is a "rock on!" feeling.
