Class 09-8 graduates ALS

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- The Pitsenbarger Airman Leadership School hosted a graduation ceremony for class 09-8 Sept. 29 at Club Eifel.

After five weeks of education and training, each graduate was equipped with the knowledge needed to assume the responsibilities that come with being a supervisor in the Air Force.

As a class, the Airmen of 09-8 also supported their local community through various volunteer opportunities. Nine Airmen assisted the education office staff with their move and classrooms reorganization. Some students also helped with setup during the Sesame Street Live USO tour at the Bitburg Gymnasium while 38 students helped keep fellow Sabers on the right track by handing out Ride For Life Cards at the Bitburg and Spangdahlem gates. The students also assisted the ALS staff with hosting the first poker tournament for the wounded war veterans at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center by raising more than $1,000 for prizes, food and drinks.

The highlight of the graduation ceremony was the presentation of the formal Professional Military Education awards. The Class 09-8 award winners are:
