Wear of pullover-sweater policy changed Published Nov. 13, 2009 SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- Wear of the new 50 percent acrylic, 50 percent wool pullover v-neck sweater has been approved and is currently available in Army and Air Force Exchange Services Military Clothing Sales Stores. The 50/50 pullover sweater is lighter weight with a flat knit and more relaxed fit than the 100 percent wool version. The initial distribution of the 50/50 pullover sweater included a Velcro name patch, but that has been removed. Airmen who purchased the sweater with the name patch can take it to AAFES alterations to have it removed at no charge. Nametags will not be worn on the 50/50 pullover sweater or the 100 percent wool sweater, effective immediately. The phase-out date for the 100 percent wool sweater is Oct. 1, 2010. Questions should be addressed through the chain of command or by calling the Air Force Personnel Center Contact Center at 800-525-0102 or DSN 665-5000.
