Deadline announced for return of fuel coupons Published Jan. 25, 2010 SPANGDHALEM AIR BASE, Germany -- If you've been hanging on to old fuel coupons, now is the time to dig them out and return them. The Army and Air Force Exchange Service - Europe announced they would no longer refund unused fuel coupons after Jan. 31, according to a news release from AAFES - Europe public affairs. AAFES transitioned from fuel coupons to the fuel ration card from May to December 2008 at the request of the German government. Since then, AAFES urged customers to visit AAFES facilities to return unused fuel coupons with an expiration date of Sept. 30, 2008, that are still attached to the original booklet. AAFES will not refund German fuel coupons after Jan. 31.
