11-A ALS Graduation

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- The Pitsenbarger Airman Leadership School hosted a graduation ceremony for class 11-A Nov. 10 at Club Eifel.

Through class discussions, lectures and evaluations, the students dedicate five challenging weeks to learning the skills necessary to assume responsibilities of a first-line supervisor in the Air Force.

As a class, the Airmen of 11-A also supported their base and local community through various volunteer and fundraising opportunities. Six students volunteered for the "trunk or treat" in hanger three, four students volunteered for airmen against drunk driving, 13 students donated 30 bags of candy for the haunted house and 25 students volunteered to set up the haunted house and scare little ones with the communication squadron in Bitburg. If that wasn't enough, 12 additional students donated money to purchase more than 30 toys for a local orphanage, seven students participated in a grape picking event with the local community and two more students will be helping out with the turkey trot during the weekend of Nov. 13.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the formal professional military education awards. The Class 11-A award winners are:
