Name: Airman 1st Class Sean Matthew Farner
Unit: 726th Air Mobility Squadron
Duty title: Passenger operations agent
Hometown: Barboursville, Va.
Years in Service: Six months

Why joined: I think my biggest reason for joining is because I want to be an honorable man. I consider my father to be an honorable man. I believe the military can help me learn to live a structured life and help me become an honorable man just like it helped my father.

Family: Father, William Farner Jr.; mother, Margery Karla Farner; brother, Roy William Farner III; and brother, Lance Patrick Farner

Hobbies: Coaching/teaching, soccer, painting, hiking, and hunting.

Favorite aspect of job: My favorite aspect of my job is the feeling I get at the end of the day. I feel accomplishment at the end of a hard worked day. Some days I might have to stay late, but it's all worth it.

Most memorable AF experience: My most memorable Air Force experience was the day my entire section including my section superintendent, squadron chief, and first sergeant processed more than 450 passengers on Air Mobility Command aircraft. We were able to offer every passenger in our terminal a seat on a flight back to the U.S. It was really an honor to help military members and their families get home to see their loved ones. Everyone left with a smile on their face. With the team work of a few, we accomplished our goal of, Rapid Global Air Mobility.

How do you make responsible choices: I believe you can't make the right choices unless you've made the wrong choices. I also was able to observe my father, a retired officer, make decisions with his troops and with my brothers. He always confided in my mother to help make the right choices. I make my decisions based on my experiences in life and my observations of how my leadership makes their decisions, and I find a common ground that is both reasonable and suitable. I do the best I can.
