Over the past few years Halloween has become more and more popular in Germany to include the local area.

In many communities throughout the country people host private parties and dress up in costumes. The most common costumes are vampires, witches or other creepy figures. But, the tradition is still not celebrated as largely as it is in the United States.

In past years, many local children have trick-or-treated with American children through off-base housing areas. Although older locals may not know exactly what this means, they know they must keep candy in the house for Oct. 31 so they can hand it out to the kids.

Halloween events taking place in the local area this year are:

Halloween Night Shopping
