MEET YOUR NEW COMMANDER Q&A

Name/Rank: Lt. Col. Matthew Scott Vogel

Organization: 726th Air Mobility Squadron

Where and When you Joined the AF: I joined the U.S. Air Force through Reserve Officer Training Corp during my time at Virginia Military Institute.

Off-duty time is for: Family…my wife, and two daughters, are fantastic and I love spending time with them.

(Past three) Previous assignments:
- Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery Alabama- Air Command and Staff College

- Langley Air Force Base, Branch Chief MQ-9-ACC Staff

-1 Year Deployment-Director of Operations- 5th EAMS, Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait

Organizational Goals:
The 726th is a fantastic organization! My goal is to continue to create a deep family culture within the squadron so that all Airman take pride in. I want the 726th to be a home away from home that both Airmen and their families feel comfortable in and can enjoy.

Work Philosophy: My work philosophy is that all Airmen are part of a larger team and no one succeeds at work without the individual to the left or the right. Additionally, the work at this organization does not successfully proceed without the support of family back home. Balance is key! Teamwork is essential!
