Planning Your Stay at Spangdahlem Air Base:

We highly recommend making your temporary lodging arrangements as far in advance of your arrival as possible, especially if you're PCSing during peak season. While we strive to accommodate all guests, temporary living facilities (TLFs) tend to fill up quickly. Making advance reservations ensures a smoother transition for you and your family.

Making a Reservation:

For those traveling on official orders, rest assured that lodging facilities on Spangdahlem Air Base provide clean and comfortable accommodations, and guaranteed reservations are honored on a first-come, first-served basis. If you're traveling on a space-available basis, please contact the Eifel Inn directly at DSN 314-452-0500 to inquire about our space-available policy, as it can change based on occupancy.

Your sponsor can be a valuable resource in assisting with your reservation. Alternatively, you can easily check availability and book your stay through our online reservation system.

There are a number of hotels throughout the Spangdahlem and Bitburg area. Many hotels are located within 15-30 minutes of Spangdahlem Air Base.  Costs vary – Contact the hotels for rates and reservations.

If you are issued a non-availability letter, consider contacting your sponsor for assistance in making other lodging arrangements and be sure to use a Value Added Tax (VAT) form to avoid paying the local taxes (about 19%). For more information about VAT forms and how to get them, click here.

Unaccompanied Members

Single or unaccompanied Airmen in grades E-1 through E-4 are not authorized temporary lodging allowance. After your sponsor meets you at the airport, your first stop on base should be the dormitory manager to receive a room assignment. If you arrive on a weekend, holiday or down day, your sponsor can stop by the dormitory manager one day earlier to get keys to a hospitality room until you can contact the dormitory manager.
