Your first step will be to visit your unit’s Commander Support Staff, where they will provide further in-processing guidance.
You are required to attend the mandatory 2-day Newcomers’ Orientation. Register for the orientation here.
Newcomers’ Orientation brings together an array of presenters that deliver both interesting and required presentations.
Your first in-processing step will be a stop at your unit’s Commander Support Staff. Your CSS will initiate your unit’s in-processing and will schedule your Finance In-Processing appointment. All military members are REQUIRED to complete their Finance In-Processing appointment within 5 duty days of arrival.
Finance In-Processing takes place at 8 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Located in building 128 (Finance) on the 3rd floor conference room. Remember: you must be scheduled to attend the briefing.
Items needed:
- 2 copies of PCS order to include any and all amendments (front and back)
- Copies of all receipts and flight itinerary
- GTC statement
- If a vehicle was shipped at government expense bring the original DD788
- If you married enroute, bring your original marriage certificate
First term Airmen will be scheduled for the First Term Airmen's Center during First Stop. These Airmen will not attend Newcomers’ Orientation.
This is required for all active-duty service members; it is highly encouraged for spouses and family members to attend.
There is also information about various on-base volunteer and commercial organizations. Attending Newcomers’ before making any major decisions or purchases could save you time and money.
To assist you in adapting to life in Germany, the M&FRC provides cultural tours and offers a grocery store orientation and German cooking classes.
Free childcare, for those eligible, is available through the "Childcare for PCS" voucher given by the M&FRC and funded by your Air Force Aid Society.
