Colonel KARRI A. ROMAN

Colonel Karri A. Roman is the Commander and Medical Treatment Facility Director, 52d Medical Group, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. Her command spans three squadrons totaling 391 personnel, to include a Limited Scope Medical Treatment Facility located at Geilenkirchen NATO Air Base, Germany. She develops programs and policies to guide coordination of local, regional, and host nation healthcare for 7,000 beneficiaries and medical support to 19 geographically separated units across five countries. Colonel Roman executes a $10 million budget and directs medical Personnel Reliability Assurance Program requirements for four units in Northern Europe, as well as deployment medicine for Europe's most heavily deployed fighter wing.

Prior to her current assignment, she was the Chief Nurse Executive at the 375th Medical Group, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Colonel Roman has also
served as Executive Officer to the Air Force Deputy Surgeon General, Falls Church, Virginia. She held the role of Director, Commander’s Action Group
at the 59th Medical Wing, Joint Base San Antonio, Texas, the AFMS's largest health, education, and readiness wing with 5,800 staff. In addition, she has directed outpatient healthcare operations for more than 30 primary and specialty departments. She has more than 10 years of experience in trauma and emergency nursing, including a deployment to the 332nd Expeditionary Medical Group, Balad, Iraq in 2005 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Colonel Roman received an Air Force direct commission in 2004.
