Colonel Michael W. Donahue II is the Commander of the 52nd Munitions Maintenance Group, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. Colonel Donahue leads a group of more than 620 dedicated military and civilian personnel who maintain and employ more than six billion dollars’ worth of United States Protection Level-1 assets in support of North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s strike mission.
Colonel Donahue enlisted in the Air Force in 1990, and earned his commission from Officer Training School in 1995. He has served in various leadership positions where he was responsible for maintenance on the B-52H aircraft and special and conventional weapons stockpiles, including air launched cruise missiles, MK-12A, MK-21 Reentry System, and the B-61 bomb. He deployed in support of Operation RESTORE DEMOCRACY and has commanded two maintenance squadrons and one training group. Prior to this assignment, he was the Director of the Complaints Resolution Directorate at the Pentagon, during which time he assisted the Inspector General of the Air Force in developing and implementing Air Force Fraud, Waste and Abuse prevention policy and executed the Inspector General Complaints Resolution program.
