Colonel Jason A. Purdy is the Commander, 52d Maintenance Group, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. The Maintenance Group provides field-level maintenance for a fleet of F-16 aircraft supporting the Supreme Allied Commander Europe with expeditionary airpower specializing in suppression of enemy air defenses, air interdiction, strategic attack, close air support, and combat search and rescue missions.
Colonel Purdy graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1999. His military education includes in-residence attendance at Squadron Officer School, Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and a Senior Developmental Education Fellowship with the Congressional Research Service. A career maintenance officer, Colonel Purdy has held various leadership positions at Wing, National Guard Bureau, Headquarters Air Force, and Combatant Command levels. His broad experience encompasses ACC, USAFE, PACAF, and SOCOM forces with direct support to A/OA-10, B-1B, C-130, E-8, F-15E, F-16C/D, HC-130J, HH-60G/W, JSTARS, and KC/RC-135 aircraft.
Prior to selection for his current duty position, Colonel Purdy served as the 23d Maintenance Group Commander at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, home of the Air Force’s legendary “Flying Tigers”. He is married to the former Jadee Bell and they have three daughters: Alaina, Jocelyn, and Caroline.
