Chief Master Sergeant TOBY B. ROACH

Chief Master Sgt. Toby B. Roach is the Command Chief of the 52nd Fighter Wing, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. As the wing’s senior enlisted leader, he is the primary advisor to the commander on all matters concerning operations, health, morale, welfare, readiness, training, quality of life, professional development, and utilization of more than 5,000 personnel assigned to the Wing. His leadership is essential to the appropriate maintenance, employment, and deployment of F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft and $6 billion of assets used in support of United States and North Atlantic Treaty Organization missions. The wing supports the Supreme Allied Commander, Europe with mission-ready personnel and systems providing expeditionary air power for suppression of enemy air defenses, counterair, air interdiction, and close-air support.

Chief Master Sergeant Roach enlisted in the Air Force in July 1998. His background includes various duties in the munitions career field, to include serving as a Technical School Course Chief, and he has held senior positions as an IG Inspector serving at the MAJCOM level.  He has deployed in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, NEW DAWN and Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa and has completed overseas tours in the Republic of Korea and Germany.  Prior to assuming his current position, he was the 31st Operations Group Superintendent at Aviano AB, Italy.
