By order of the 52nd Fighter Wing Commander, Cheech and Chong's Headshop in Trier has been placed off-limits for the next 45 days effective June 1.

This order was issued because of concerns of illegal activities that adversely affect the health, welfare and discipline of U.S. military members, U.S. government civilian employees and their family members.

"The following conditions must be met for this establishment to be authorized for patronage by U.S. personnel. You must permanently refrain from selling controlled substances including Spice, as well as other items used in association with illegal activities," said Col. Chris Weggeman, 52nd FW commander.

Failure to make these changes could result in a request by the 52nd FW commander to the Spangdahlem Air Base Armed Forces Disciplinary Control Board to place the establishment on a permanent, off-limits order. The commander can also request other business owned by the proprietor also be placed off-limits to active-duty service members, U.S. government civilian employees and their family members as well.

U.S. service members in violation of this order are subject to punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice or other directives.
