SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- Spangdahlem is scheduled to hold its 13th, annual Explore the Eifel information and adventure fair from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 27 at Club Eifel here.

This German-American partnership event is open to Sabers and their families, and it showcases activities within an hour's drive of base as well as local culture and history.

This year, the fair will have more than 200 exhibitors with information and entertainment booths – located inside and outside of the club. It will be the largest fair to date.

At the event, which is a commander-designated alternate-duty location, people will have an opportunity to sign up for more than 25 excursions throughout the Eifel region and in Luxembourg. The excursions include historical city tours, castle tours, hiking, biking, dining and more. These outings begin shortly after the fair and will continue throughout the summer. Sign-ups will occur at the fair’s information booth.

The Explore the Eifel fair will also offer food and drink samples. It will also present entertainment such as musical and dance performances, a magician, mechanical bull riding, a carrousel, a bouncy castle, Medieval-style archery and more. (See below for an entertainment list.)

For Sabers who want to know what the Eifel has to offer, and those looking to better integrate into local culture, this is the event to attend.
