Super Saber Performer
SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany --
Name: Staff Sgt. Gary Saunders
Unit: 52nd Equipment Maintenance Squadron
Duty title: A-10 maintenance floor chief
Hometown: Tucson, Ariz.
Years in Service: Five years
Why joined: I joined the military so I could travel and see the world.
Family: I have a great family that lives back home in Arizona. A father, mother and sister.
Hobbies: Some of my hobbies are playing sports and traveling. I also have a ukulele I play once in a while.
Favorite aspect of job: My favorite part of my job would have to be working with other people. I get great satisfaction knowing I'm a part of a team that gets the job done. I'd also like to add that listening to and watching jets take off and land every day is completely awesome.
Most memorable Air Force experience: My most memorable experience in the Air Force thus far has been when I served in Afghanistan supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. I recall launching my jet out with the wing commander piloting it. My jet came back with absolutely no munitions left.
How do you make responsible choices: I make responsible choices based on good logic and my moral beliefs.
