HomeCoronavirusCOVID Testing

Ordering the correct test

Ensure you're double checking the type of test required for the activity you're trying to do, whether that be a medical appointment, official/leisure travel, or just going out to eat.

Antigen test: (frequently referred to as a rapid test). Turnaround times for results is usually quick and in some cases, results can be reported the same day as collection.

PCR test: PCR testing is considered the “gold standard” in SARS-CoV-2 detection and is typically required for air travel. Turnaround times are longer, generally 2-3 days, but some can be turned in as little as 24 hours. When testing demand is high, results may take longer.
