52nd Communications Squadron claims third intramural basketball championship

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – Senior Airman Artis Gandy, 52nd Communications Squadron, rebounds the ball during the first game of the intramural basketball championship series here Feb. 11. The 52nd CS defeated the 52nd Security Forces Squadron 57-36 in the first game and 73-67 in overtime the second game, winning the championship title. Airmen defend Bitburg courthouse key

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – 52nd Fighter Wing members assist Joachim Kandels, Bitburg mayor, in protecting the symbolic city key from the women of Bitburg during the annual storming of the Rathaus, or town hall, Feb. 11. Once the women got the key, they also took control of the city for the rest of the day. The storming marks Weiberdonnerstag, or the first day of Fasching.
