10/10/2012 - SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany  -- The 52nd Fighter Wing is hosting Halloween events throughout October here and at Bitburg Annex.

The goal of these events is to bring the traditional American holiday to Airmen and their families, and community members in the Eifel Region.

This year's Halloween events

People can decorate Halloween themed cakes at a cake decorating class 6 - 8 p.m. Oct. 17 at the arts and crafts center. The cost of this class is $30. For more information, call DSN 452-6841 or 06565-61-6841.

Dress-a-pin takes place now-Oct. 25 at Eifel Lanes. People can purchase pins for $2 from the bowling center and dress them in a Halloween theme. Pins must be dropped off by Oct. 25 to be judged. First, second and third place winners will be announced at approximately 6 p.m. Oct. 31 at Eifel Lanes. For more information, call DSN 452-2695 or 06565-61-2695.

People enrolled with the child development center can participate in a free pumpkin viewing activity 3 p.m. Oct. 25 at the soccer field near the center. For more information, call DSN 452-5320 or 06565-61-5320.

A German-American friendship haunted house takes place 5 - 8 p.m. Oct. 25 for ID card holders only and 5 p.m. - 12 a.m. Oct. 26 and 27 for the public on Bitburg Annex. The haunted house is located near the first exit of the traffic circle on base. The cost is $3 or 3 Euro for children and $5 or 5 Euro for adults, and food booths will be available.

A free children's Halloween party takes place 3 p.m. Oct. 26 at the base library. Party-goers are encouraged to dress up in Halloween costumes.

A family ghost tour takes place Oct. 27 at Cochem Castle. The cost is 45 Euro for adults and 39 Euro for children. Buses depart from Bitburg at 12:30 p.m. and Spangdahlem at 1 p.m. For more information, call DSN 452-6567 or 06565-61-6567.

A Halloween party at Frankenstein's castle takes place Oct. 27. The cost is 65 Euro for adults, and the event is not recommended for children. Buses depart from Bitburg at 3 p.m. and Spangdahlem at 3:30 p.m. For more information, call DSN 452-6567 or 06565-61-6567.

A free Halloween masquerade and costume party takes place 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Brick House. This event is for people 18 and older only. The Brick House Band and the band Bob's Your Uncle will perform.

Halloween family fun night takes place 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at Club Eifel. The event costs $7.95 for adults and $3.95 for children and is free for club members. For more information, call DSN 452-4633 or 06565-61-4633.

Runners and walkers can celebrate Halloween 4 p.m. Oct. 31 at the free Halloween 5K starting at the fitness center. People can run or walk the route in their Halloween costumes with their children and/or dogs. There is no sign up required.

A pre-teen Halloween party takes place 6 - 8 p.m. Oct. 31 at the teen center. For more information, call DSN 452-6244 or 06565-61-6244.

Trick-or-treat takes place 6 - 8 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Spangahlem AB housing area.

The Music and Video Xpress store is offering one free DVD rental to each person who comes into the store dressed in costume Oct. 31. This offer excludes Blu-ray and television series.

A free Halloween block party takes place 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at the fitness center. Free candy and giveaways will be available.

The Pet Spa offers a five percent discount to people kenneling their animals for these or any other 52nd Force Support Squadron events.
