Mission
The 703rd MUNSS is a Geographically Separated Unit responsible to receive, store, and maintain US munitions, and to provide custody and control of those munitions until receipt of proper authority to release them to the Royal Netherlands Air Force 1st FW Wing (F-16 aircraft) in support of NATO's Strike Mission.
Location
The squadron is located on a Royal Netherlands Air Force base outside the town of Uden (pop. 30,000). Uden is located in the southeastern part of the country within a triangle formed by the cities of s-Hertogenbosch (pop. 100,000), Eindhoven (pop. 150,000) and Nijmegen (pop. 130,000), and is about 85 miles south of Amsterdam. Most Dutch people speak English.
Personnel and Resources
The 703rd MUNSS is a geographically separated unit consisting of 140 active duty personnel from 24 different Air Force specialties who provide custody for a protection level 1 stockpile. The Royal Netherlands Air Force, through a bi-lateral agreement or technical arrangement between the U.S. and the Dutch Government, maintains property occupied by USAF personnel.
Organization
The squadron is divided into five flights and a commander's support staff.
