Largest State fair of Rheinland Pfalz
This year's Rheinland-Pfalz Tag state festival, where hundreds of cities and communities will represent themselves with booths, traditional craft and outfits, also featuring first-class band performances for young and old, as well as cultural events, takes place July 18-20 in Neuwied, near Koblenz. The event includes a Streitkraefteplatz, or military area, with exhibitions by both the German und US forces stationed in Rheinland-Pfalz.

Traditional wine festival in Traben-Trarbach/Mosel
There will be a traditional wine festival held July 25 - 28, including wine, live music, crowning of the new wine queen, parades, market, rides and much more. The festival is hosted by a traditional wine guild. For more information, click here.

Trier-Olewig wine festival with fireworks display
Trier-Olewig, a suburb of Trier will host a fun wine festival Aug. 1-4 with a fireworks display. Wine sampling and delicious food snacks will be offered along the streets of town.

Cochem castle festival with medieval market
The scenic town of Cochem holds their annual Reichsburg castle festival Aug. 2-3.

Medieval Festival at Vianden Castle
Considered to be the largest medieval spectacle in Luxembourg, the Midieval Festival at Vianen Castle takes place July 26 - Aug. 3. The festival features knight camps, medieval tournament shows and plays, fire shows, ballade singers and minstrels, jugglers, califgrapphy, birds of prey, vivacious music and medieval market. Bike & Run at Nuerburgring
Better known as the "Challenge in the Green Hell," The Bike & Run at Nuerburgring takes place July 25-27. Sports enthusiasts will bike a 23-kilometer long Nurburgring-circuit by bicycle and a five-, 10- or 24.4-kilometer run.

AvD Oldtimer Grand-Prix
The highlight of the season for fans of classic cars, the AvD Oldtimer Grand-Prix takes place Aug. 8-10 in Nuerburgring. With more than 500 classic race cars and an outstanding starting field, the grand-prix is the biggest and most popuar vintage car racing events in the world. Koblenz Rhine in flames festival with fireworks display
The popular Koblenz "Rhine in flames" and "Rhine aflame on the Rhine river" festival takes place Aug. 9, featuring nine giant fireworks displays along the Mosel river in the towns of Koblenz, Spay, Braubach, Rhens and Lahnstein. More than 70 Rhine riverboats with over 30,000 people on board glide from the Boppard Hamm to the Deutsche Eck or German corner in Koblenz for the spectacle. German corner is where the Rhine and Mosel rivers join. The fireworks in Koblenz will start off around 11 p.m. from the Stolzenfels castle and the Koenigsbacher brewery. Multiple fireworks displays also take place from the Ehrenbreitstein fortress located across from the Deutsche Eck. Mosel fireworks displays take place all summer in communities along the river.

Pig festival in Wittlich
People can pig out at the annual Wittlich pig festival Aug. 15-18. This is a major, traditional Eifel event, which has gained much popularity, attracting ten thousands of people every year.

Luxembourg 'Summer in the City' Events
Throughout the summer , Luxembourg city offers a large number of open air concerts, movies, public viewing events at the main squares 'Place d'Armes', 'Knuedler' and at the 'Clausen' grounds; followed by the 'Schobermesse' fair, Aug. 22 Aug-Sept.10. Highlights include the Knuedler Rockfestival on July 6 and the Blues'N Jazz Rallye on July 19. For details, go to www.summerinthecity.lu

Benelux country large fair with amusement park
The Luxembourg Schobermesse, also known as the Luxembourg Octoberfest, is the largest fair of the Benelux countries and attracts visitors from the borderland countries of Luxembourg, Belgium and Germany, and takes place Aug. 22 until Sept. 10 this year in the center of Luxembourg city.

Manderscheid medieval castle festival
The community of Manderscheid will sponsor their annual medieval castle festival Aug. 30-31. This is a very popular event in the local area, offering fun to the entire family. Jousting tournaments, a nice medieval entertainment program, a medieval market and a fireworks display are scheduled.

Bernkastel middle Mosel wine festival, fireworks display and parade
Join Bernkastel in celebrating its traditional wine festival of the middle-Mosel Sept. 4-8. Highlights include a fireworks display at 9 p.m., Sept. 6 and a colorful parade at 2 p.m., Sept. 7. This is a major event of the region.

Bad Duerkheim sausage market
The world famous Bad Duerkheim sausage market, more than 560 years old and considered Germany's biggest folks festival, takes place Sept. 12-16 and 19-22. The event features numerous large festival tents, a carnival, many food stands and plenty of entertainment.

University of Oklahoma Upcoming Course

Ongoing Events

Cancer Support Group
This group is designed to give survivors, spouses, and families the support and strength to move forward together, rather than alone. Meetings are held from 6:30 - 8 p.m. at the Coffee Mill on the last Monday of each month. For more information please contact Amanda Atwell at 0151-2503-8980.

Spangdamen Monthly Meetings
The Spangdamen women's group will meet every third Thursday of the month at 11:30 a.m. at Kuhl Beanz.  For more information call 452-6552 or 452-2742.

Mexican Buffet

Tabletop gaming

Piano lessons

Music theme nights
A music theme night takes place at 9 p.m., every Friday at the Club Eifel. Drink specials are offered and a new music theme will be featured each week. For more information, call DSN 452-4639 or 06565-61-4639.

Texas Hold'Em
Texas Hold'Em will be held from 6-10 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday at the Saber Sports Lounge. The cost is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Players can only participate one day a week. Community Coffee
First Friday of the month 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. (unless there is a holiday), an informal opportunity to get the latest information on events and resources for all Sabers. Light refreshments, children are welcome and no registration is required. Wonderful opportunity for NEW Sabers to connect & gather information, at the Airman & Family Readiness Center, bldg 307. Dart leagues
Dart league opens Mondays 6 p.m., beginning May 6 for single competitors and Saturdays at 6 p.m., beginning May 11 for doubles. The meetings take place at the Saber Sports Lounge and cost $5 for members and $10 for non-members. For more information, call DSN 452-4639 or 06565-61-4639.

Family golf
Family golf takes place noon to close every Sunday. The cost of a round of golf is $25 for up to four family members and includes two golf carts and all rental clubs. For more information, call DSN 452-4653 or 06565-61-4653.

Magic Nail
Manicures and pedicures are available from 8 a.m. - 5p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday at Magic Nail. Costs vary. For more information, call 016091-331848.

Healthy relationships class

Civil Air Patrol
The Spangdahlem Cadet Squadron, Civil Air Patrol, meets every Thursday night 1800-2030 . Youth between the ages of 13 and 18 may join the Civil Air Patrol. Golf Instructions

Bi-weekly Saber Toastmasters meeting
Saber Toastmasters meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month in the Spangdahlem Conference Room (inside Kuhl Beans) at 6 p.m. Saber Toastmasters is a local chapter of the international Toastmasters organization specializing in improving communication and developing leadership skills. The Saber Toastmasters meetings are a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their communication abilities in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere. Bitburg Book Club meetings

Auto hobby center car cleaning services
Car cleaning services are available to ID-card holders at the 52nd Force Support Squadron Auto Hobby Center. The cleaning services the auto hobby center provides are a basic agricultural cleaning, agricultural detailing, deluxe auto cleaning, exterior cleaning and interior detailing. The agricultural cleanings guarantee vehicles pass the agricultural auto shipping inspection. Prices vary based on time it takes to cleans vehicles. Dog social hour every Tuesday
Dog social hour takes place 6 - 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the Pet Spa. The cost for this is $5, and a dog trainer will be there to answer questions. Dogs must be at least 6 months old and have up-to-date rabies, distemper, bordatella vaccinations on file with the Pet Spa. Call and prepay 24 hours in advance. Texas Hold'em

Dog classes
Register for dog classes with the Pet Spa now. Classes will be held every Saturday at the Pet Spa and include a five-week puppy kindergarten costing $55 per pet and an eight-week dog obedience course costing $90 per pet. To register, call DSN 452-9362 or 06565-61-9362.

Smoothie bar
The smoothie bar at the Skelton Memorial Fitness Center front desk is now open. The bar offers 12 different flavored smoothies for $3 and add-ons are 75 cents. For more information call DSN 452-6634 or 06565-61-6634.

Club catering
Club Eifel Catering offers delivered buffets or hors d'oeures meals for base members. Orders come prepared on chrome platters or stainless steel chaffers and may include china, glassware and linen. For more information, call the catering office at DSN 452-4642 or 06565-61-4642.

52nd FW Singing Sabers:
Do you like to sing? Do you play an instrument? Why not join the Singing Sabers! The Singing Sabers need new musical talent to help bring that special touch to Spangdahlem's military ceremonies. Practice sessions are held every Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30 -6:30 p.m. in the Base Chapel. All active-duty, civilians, dependents, retirees and local nationals are welcome to attend. Ditching the Dorms

Short Game Golf Clinic
Short game golf clinics now take place from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. for kids ages 5-15 and 1:30- 3:30 p.m. for ages 16 and up, every Saturday. The cost is $25 per adult and $15 for children. For more information, call DSN 452-4653 or 06565-61-4653

Teen glow bowling
Eifel Lanes has teen glow bowling nights from 6 - 10 p.m. every Saturday. Teens bowl for $5 with shoe rental included. For more information, call DSN 452-2695 or 06565-61-2695.

Doggy day care
The Pet Spa offers doggy day care Monday to Friday. Drop off is 7 - 10 a.m., and pickup is between 2 - 6 p.m. Daily, weekly and monthly rates are available. Reservations are required. For more information, email spangpetspa@yahoo.com.

Jiu Jitsu
The Skelton Memorial Fitness Center offers Jiu Jitsu classes every Tuesday and Thursday in the aerobics room. Class for children 6-11 years old begins at 5:15 p.m., children 12-17 years old at 6:15 p.m. and women at 7:30 p.m. The cost is $110 for eight classes. Two to three additional family members can participate for $60 per person. A fourth family member can participate free.

Taiji Quan class
The Skelton Memorial Fitness Center offers a free Taiji Quan class 6 - 8 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday. Taiji Quan is martial arts in slow motion. For more information, call Klaus van den Boom at DSN 452-7233 or 0656561-7233.

Tae Kwon Do

Zumba
You can dance your way fit with Zumba Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 11:30 a.m., or Tuesday and Thursday at 5 p.m. Classes are $5 a piece or $45 for ten. For more information, call DSN- 452-6634 or 06565-61-6634.

Monthly Tier II meeting
The Tier II monthly meeting takes place at 11 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Brick House. Tier II is a professional organization focused on developing the leadership, management and mentorship skills of staff sergeant selects, staff sergeants and technical sergeants. Lunch is provided. DUI poster contest
A poster-design contest is now ongoing. Airmen Against Drunk Driving is calling all artists to submit poster designs to curb Spangdahlem's drunk driving. Three winners will be chosen every month to be displayed on the Spangdahlem Facebook page, and the first-place design will run as a logon slide until the following month.
