52d Security Forces Squadron
Mission
To support the 52d Fighter Wing's mission by protecting the wing's war fighting resources valued at over $6.2 billion and the people who maintain and employ them. We provide dedicated law enforcement, security, force protection operations and maintain the capability of rapidly transitioning between worldwide contingencies and antiterrorism actions.
Location
Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, is home to the 52nd Fighter Wing and is located in the southwestern section of Germany, along the border of Luxembourg, Belgium, and France.
Personnel and Resources
The 52 SFS currently has 352 authorized members. The 52 SFS is responsible for the safety and security of 15K+ personnel and USAF assets valued at 6.2 billion dollars. The Squadron manages an annual budget of $250,000, and maintains mobility assets in excess of $3,500,000. 52 SFS regularly conducts off base patrols along the routes between Binsfeld, Speicher, Herforst, Spangdahlem AB, and Bitburg Annex housing areas. 52 SFS responds to, and performs official police duties within, a 40-kilometer radius of Spangdahlem AB. SF Defenders work joint patrols with local German law enforcement, and also support Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and various other taskings and joint operations within NATO and worldwide.
Organization
The 52 SFS is divided into five staff functions: S1- Commander's Support Staff, S2-Intelligence/Investigations, S3-Operations, S4-Supply and Logistics, and S5-Plans and Programs.
