Rank / Name: Tech. Sgt. Mario Rainge

Unit: 52nd Civil Engineer Squadron

Duty title: Fire Prevention NCO in charge

Hometown: Glendale, Ariz.

Years in Service: 14 years

Why joined: For personal and professional development and to make a difference.

Family: My wife Sid and my five-year-old daughter Chaz.

Hobbies: Enjoying the company of my wife as we experience new things with close friends, studying scripture and playing the drums.

Favorite aspect of job: Public relations, helping people and improving processes.

Most memorable Air Force experience: A deployment to Afghanistan: Responded to an Apache helicopter crash, helping the pilots and to help in extinguishing efforts... received an Army Achievement medal. That moment, I truly embraced all that encompasses being an Airman.

How do you make responsible choices: I follow Jesus; the perfect expression of our core values and servant leadership. As I make a practice of this followership, I am transformed daily into a strong moral leader that chooses the right thing and pursues excellence, not only when I don the uniform, but in every aspect of my life. Over time, making responsible choices becomes a part of who I am, my very nature. I have a very long way to go, but I believe I am going the right way.
