Name
: Senior Airman David Cook Jr.

Unit: 470th Air Base Squadron, NATO Air Base Geilenkirchen, Germany

Duty title: Field registration clerk

Hometown: Palm Bay, Fla.

Years in Service: Four years and two months

Why joined: I joined for better career opportunities compared to what was available in my home town. I also wanted to travel, and the Air force has stationed me in places I couldn't imagine visiting without serving.

Family: My Family is located in upstate New York outside of Schenectady and in Palm Bay, Fla.

Hobbies: I like to ride my motorcycle in the warm months and work on it during the cold months. I love to travel to random cities and go to local festivals. When the weather is bad and new motorcycle parts haven't come in the mail, I like to play videogames with my friends.

Favorite aspect of job: I get to experience more of the support functions associated with security forces than the average senior airman at a main operating base. I think it is a great opportunity to have early in your career. My experience from here should help me progress at a faster pace than if I had only experienced shift work as a security forces patrolman.

Most memorable Air Force experience: I don't have just one memorable experience. If I have to choose, it would have to be the friends I've made along the way. From telling jokes in the desert, to snowboarding in the Hakkoda Mountains of Japan, my friends have been there through the good times and bad times.

How do you make responsible choices: I like to look ahead and plan for the worst but hope for the best. If a situation doesn't feel right, it probably isn't.
