Two castles, embedded in beautiful nature are admired year-round by many visitors of the Eifel region. Once a year, one of the two castles, the Niederburg or lower castle becomes the site for a popular event, the Manderscheid medieval castle festival. During the annual event, knights on horses will battle with lances and swords, with bows and spears.
